  • 250 g quark (curd cheese)
  • 70 g butter
  • 1 small egg
  • 140 g flour
  • 6-8 large apricots
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • powdered sugar

Preparation

  • Put the butter and egg in the mixer and pulse a few times.
  • Then add curd cheese, flour and salt and blend for about 30-45 seconds.
  • Put the dough in a bowl, cover it with a towel and let it rest it for about 20 minutes.
  • When necessary, if the dough is very sticky, add a little bit of flour and knead the dough. Divide the finished dough into 6-8 pieces, press flat with floured hands and use it to cover the apricots.
  • Cook the dumplings in plenty of salted water at low boiling point for about 15 minutes.
  • In the meantime, toast the breadcrumbs with butter, add some powdered sugar and toss the finished dumplings in them.
  • Sprinkle with icing sugar or cinnamon sugar before serving. Strawberry sauce is also ideal as a side dish. To prepare, simply blend a few fresh strawberries briefly or add ready-made whipped cream.
