Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 Roma tomatoes (roughly chopped)
  • 1 green chilli (roughly chopped)
  • 1/2 sweet onion (roughly chopped)
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 juice of one lime
  • handful of cilantro
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by preparing the ingredients. Roughly chop the Roma tomatoes, green chili, and sweet onion. Peel and mince the garlic. Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice. Wash and chop a handful of cilantro.
  • In a blender or food processor, add the green chili, onion, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Pulse the mixture until it reaches your desired consistency. Some people like chunky salsa, while others prefer a smoother texture. You can adjust the amount of pulsing to your liking.
  • Next, add in the chopped Roma tomatoes, the can of diced tomatoes (undrained), cumin, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Pulse the mixture again until everything is well combined and reaches your desired consistency.
  • Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning as necessary. You can add more salt, lime juice, or other spices to taste.
  • Transfer the salsa to a serving bowl and enjoy it with your favorite chips! The salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
