Black Sesame Salted Caramel Slice

Ingredients
  

Ingredients for the base

  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 8 medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Ingredients for the salted caramel

  • 10 medjool dates, pitted
  • 1-2 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp black sesame tahini
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1 pinch salt

Ingredients for the chocolate top

  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place all ingredients for the base in a blender and pulse until combined. Press into a lined slice tin and freeze for 1 hr.
  • To make caramel place the dates in the blender and pulse with a little water until smooth caramel paste forms. Spoon the dates into a bowl and stir through the black tahini, maple syrup and coconut oil. Sprinkle with salt.
  • Remove the base from the freezer and spread the black sesame caramel over the base, return to the freezer.
  • Melt the chocolate in the bottom of a double saucepan.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over the top of the slice. Place in the fridge to set for 39 minutes.
